CSR Audit——All you need to know Chinese version PrefaceLabor shortage! Labor shortage! Since 2010, manufacturing industry has been stuck in a dilemma: workers are running away while order is increasing. When HR practitioners are desperate for workers, young 90’s[who born in 90’s] are jumping from factory to factory. Unlike 80’s or 70’s, the 90’s spends more time looking for new job; to them, it’s wiser to spend time looking for a better pay job than spend time for work. The difference between generations or, you may call generation gap, is so huge that employers have to deal with it carefully, such as, young workers dislike overtime while married workers demand more overtime to feed up their families, so employers have to make a balance, the time the employers can do whatever they want has gone. So, what is the right thing for employers to do considering so many differences and challenges born of the differences? Is it called CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility)? Like Premier Wen Jiabao once said, ethical blood should be flowing inside of every entrepreneur’s vessels? However, this book is not trying to seek the answers for above questions, this book is about how to audit a company’s CSR status, if the company thinks CSR is the solution and wants(or needs) to demonstrate to the public and its customers. CSR Audit isn’t a new thing at all, there were many enterprises audited by some NGOs in last century; since then, the number of audits is growing, so as the number of audit standards. There are some reasons why the number of audit standards is growing: the buyers who wrote the standards are from different countries and different culture background, they are serving different industries and their companies are in different development phase, their leaders have different styles and so as their stockholders… each difference leads to different CSR clauses and different translation of regulations. This is also why suppliers have to do with so many CSR audits and why CSR audit is full of opportunities… Until recently, the number of audit standards is still increasing. The book is ready for your use as a handbook of how to conduct a good audit, however, since it’s done before 2011, some of the quoted laws may not be in effect anymore, if you do like this book, please visit our website for updates as well. Thank you!
